HOW TO CARE FOR TEETH AFTER WHITENING?

 

After teeth whitening, we have to maintain good oral hygiene so the the effects of teeth whitening lasts longer.

Here are some tips on how to care for teeth after whitening:

  1. Brush your teeth at least 2 times a day in the morning and before going to bed. This should be a regular habit.
  2. Wash mouth with water after eating to rinse food particle between teeth.
  3. Floss your teeth at least once a day, especially in areas that is hard to reach by tooth brush, to remove food stuck between teeth and reduce the formation of plaque.
  4. Avoid drinking coffee, tea or red wine for at least 1 week.
  5. Avoid eating extremely hot, cold or acidic foods and drinks few days after treatment because teeth can still be too sensitive or weak.
  6. Take painkillers if you experience toothache or sensitivity.
  7. Use toothpaste containing fluoride to reduce sensitivity.
  8. Avoid eating hard or tough foods for at least 1-2 days, if possible eat only soft foods.
